Scheme’s Public Consultation Events Unaffected by Brunton Theatre Inspection

Brunton Theatre Announced Temporary Closure of Theatre and Esk Rooms
On March 15th, the Brunton Theatre announced closure of their theatre space due to structural issues with the roof. This was following a recent inspection.
Further inspections are scheduled for Venue 1, Venue 2 and the Esk Rooms.
There was no interruption to Scheme meetings held this week. However, Esk Room bookings are cancelled until April 1st, 2023.
The theatre’s foyer, where the Scheme’s drop-in consultations are being held, remain unaffected.
The Project Team are closely monitoring the situation and will update the public on consultation developments.

The Scheme’s Next Formal Consultation Events
The Project Team return to hold further Local Area Consultations in April 2023. We look forward to evolving the design of each area with the public.
The Local Area Consultations will be held over three days:
- Tuesday 18th April 2023 – Esksides;
- Wednesday 19th April 2023 – Fisherrow / Mountjoy Area; and
- Thursday 20th April 2023 – Edinburgh Road
All feedback provided will feed into the 2-day Public Exhibition No.2 on June 20th and 21st.

Friday Drop-in Consultations at The Brunton Theatre
The Project Team will be in the foyer of The Brunton Theatre on Fridays as planned. Drop-in to talk to us about the Scheme between 10am and 1pm.
